  • Overview

    Aveshka is seeking a Clinical Specialist to help provide support to CDC’s Influenza Coordination Unit (ICU). The ICU is responsible for ensuring that these diverse activities are coordinated, effective, and efficient, providing both leadership and budgetary authority for pandemic influenza preparedness activities at CDC.  A critical function of the ICU is its ability to convene key CDC stakeholders and provide the operational infrastructure needed during an influenza pandemic response or similar emergency.  


    The Clinical Specialist shall provide subject matter expertise for pandemic influenza planning and response that will inform operational and response plans. Areas of expertise shall include, but not be limited to:

    • Provide technical expertise to inform development of effective and accurate scenarios for functional full-scale and tabletop exercises
    • Provide evidence-based input to leadership as they resolve critical matters, questions, problems, and issues for pandemic planning and response
    • Serve as a subject matter expert in developing pandemic medical care and countermeasure plans and protocols
    • Conduct informal and formal meta-analyses of key issues to inform exercise planning and planning for a pandemic response
    • Identify major pandemic planning and response gaps and deficiencies and propose corrective actions


    Required Education:

    • Masters Degree or equivalent post-graduate training in health care or clinical area

      M.D. preferred

    Required Experience:

    • 5+ years of work experience related to the job description
