The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) is a public health preparedness and emergency response organization in the Office of the Secretary at the United States Department of Health and Human Services. ASPR was created under the Pandemic and All Hazards Preparedness Act in the wake of Hurricane Katrina to lead the nation in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the adverse health effects of public health emergencies and disasters. The National Disaster Medical System is a Division (NDMS) within the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) who reports to the ASPR. This position will support NDMS in various aspects.
-Ability to work within short and specific timelines for task distribution and completion
-Perform Data entry within the NDMS business system (Response Management System)
-Create, develop, and modify reporting metrics for senior leadership review
-Develop and maintain various tracking mechanisms using MSOffice suite products
-Download, scan, file and search documents for additional actions in support of hiring and training initiatives
-Various other administrative responsibilities as necessary to achieve the mission of NDMS
-Participate in meetings/conference calls at the direction of the government project lead/Branch Chief; create agendas and take minutes
-Background in developing educational and training curriculum including Points of Instruction documents and a background in education for adult learners
-Create documents for training events
-Complete all personnel training activities required to support contract requirements (e.g. security, records management, database applications, etc.)
-Periodic CONUS/local travel may be required
Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Required Experience: MS Office expertise
Required Clearance: Public Trust
Desired Qualifications: Public Health Preparedness and Response experience; The ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment. Experience with creating training resources, leadership briefings/metrics, and additional resources.
