    Aveshka is supporting the CDC’s Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response (OPHPR).  The mission of the Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response (OPHPR) is to safeguard health and save lives by providing a platform for public health preparedness and emergency response. We are looking to hire a Deputy Program Manager to support Task Order capture, bid and execution in support of the following mission areas.


    • Fostering collaborations, partnerships, integration, and resource leveraging to increase the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) health impact and achieve population health goals;
    • Providing strategic direction to support CDC’s public health preparedness and response efforts;
    • Managing CDC-wide preparedness and emergency response programs;
    • Maintaining CDC’s platforms for emergency response operations—including the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS), the Public Health Emergency Preparedness Cooperative Agreement Program and the Select Agent and Toxins regulatory program;
    • Communicating the mission, functions and activities of public health preparedness and emergency response to internal and external stakeholders;
    • Delivering critical medical assets to the site of a national emergency;
    • Providing program support, technical assistance, guidance and fiscal oversight to state, local, tribal and territorial public health department grantees;
    • Providing CDC's core incident management structure to coordinate and execute preparedness and response activities;
    • Regulating the possession, use and transfer of select agents and toxins and the importation of etiological agents, hosts, and vectors of human disease to protect public health in the United States;
    • Providing the centralized management and coordination of national scenario capabilities planning and exercising of these plans for CDC.


    • Overseeing the delivery of all services under the BPA Call Order
    • Working collaboratively with a variety of OPHPR stakeholders and other vendor partners to continuously identify improvements
    • Ensure OPHPR satisfaction with Contractor performance and take actions needed to drive efficiency and ensure effective performance
    • Act as the on-site escalation point of contact for all contractual and delivery related discussions.
    • Responsive action to respond to task order requirements, fill positions, and make improvements where needed.
    • Personnel selection
    • Performance management
    • Responsibility for profitability of the contract
    • Oversight of task order managers to ensure on-time/budget performance
    • Responsible for task order RFP response support


    Required Education:


    • Master’s Degree

    Required Experience:


    • 10 years of Program Management experience
    • PMP

    Desired Qualifications:


    • CEM desired


    This position is in support of procurement effort. Candidates selected for the proposal will have first right of refusal at the time of contract award.
