    Aveshka is seeking a Logistics Specialist to help provide support to the operational administration, infrastructure and management preparedness activities of the OPHPR.

    The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention - Office of Public Health Preparedness and Emergency Response (OPHPR) provides a variety of technical services in support of public health and emergency preparedness.  Their mission is to safeguard health and save lives by providing a flexible and robust platform for public health emergency response.



    • Experience in supporting organizations globally and domestically in real-world response events by facilitating deployment of staff and resources, identifying and attaining equipment, coordinating operations with other key organizations (DOD, FEMA, HHS, ASPR, first responders).
    • Provide 24/7 operations and logistics support in multiple capacities during an emergency on an as-needed basis.
    • Collaborate and work with State/local governments, first responders, and other key organizations (DOD, FEMA, HHS, ASPR) and to be on call 24/7 in support of the DSNS emergency response efforts in the deployment and support of stockpile assets, push packs or Chempacks.
    • Coordinate with and ensure that the medical supply chain and stockpile inventory is obtained, maintained, expiration dates monitored, and available when critical assets are needed for deployment.
    • Maintain proper oversight of stockpile warehouses to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
    • Provide emergency operations support in property management, equipment assigned and/or deployed, assignment and tracking of tasks and deliverables.
    • Support emergency operations support responding to events by making travel arrangements, preparing travel itineraries, coordinating meetings and logistics, arranging for AV support, preparing travel orders and processing vouchers


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree required
    • 5+ years of work experience related to the job description

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Familiarity working in remote office and/or multiple customer locations
    • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat
    • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Knowledge of proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision making capabilities
    • Highly resourceful team-player with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
    • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client servicer and response.
    • Ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
    • Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
